WHO SHOULD APPLY FOR A MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE?
Afghan Citizens obtaining a certificate for Marriage.

1) Marriage Certificate Application

2) Provide the following information for Applicant:
  • Date of Marriage
  • Place of Marriage
  • Husband's Name
  • Wife’s Name
3) Original Nekah Khat is required; if this document is not available, please contact The Consulate General office in Los Angeles to provide you with further information.

4) Provide Copies of:

  • Green Card (Front and Back) or If you are a US Citizen a copy of your US Passport
  • Driver's License or Identification Card.(Front and Back)
5) Marriage Certificate fee:

  • $50.00
(All fees must be paid with MONEY ORDER)

NO CASH OR PERSONAL CHECKS ARE ACCEPTED

NOTE: Applications sent by mail must include a prepaid, self-addressed return envelope. You may use Certified or Registered U.S. mail, or a Federal Express or UPS shipping envelope.
